Home Squad: The Musical
Milner Martin’s, “Home Squad: The Musical,” dives into the struggles society faces when looking at the “picture perfect” family dynamic. Will, a sheltered homeschooled kid protected from all the evils in the world, swaps his life with Colin, a public school bully who is very familiar with life’s curveballs… Is the grass greener on the other side? Does one life style work the same for everyone? Is there a “correct” way to raise kids? These are the questions Home Squad: The Musical hopes to answer.

Milner Martin
Milner holds a Bachelor’s degree in theatre from North Greenville University. Growing up under The Baillie Players, the family business that performed 4-person cabaret shows in retirement centers and doing drama residencies in schools since 1989, he was raised “in the steamer trunk” on tour. Born in 1998, Milner has been touring with The Baillie Players since he was a baby… His father, Buren Martin, passed down the company to Milner in 2023 and he is now continuing on the family legacy of producing children’s theatre in schools across the southeast. With the company’s legacy, he has been able to work with thousands of students across over 70 schools in South Carolina, Florida, and Louisiana. With Home Squad- The Musical, he is taking two different casts up to NYC to perform this show off-Broadway… One cast is his group of core students located at The Inman Theatre. The other cast will consist of 30 students from all over South Carolina, Nassau Florida, and St Mary Parish Louisana, from his Baillie Players drama residency tour… Milner’s main goal is to find the best talent in the most rural, obscure parts of the south that do not offer strong theatrical experiences for students… To offer theatre for kids who would typically never step foot on the stage. He has performed in over 1,000 1-act performances with The Baillie Players… As well as directed over 1,000 shows across 70 different schools.
Supporting freelance artists
Milner has paid several freelance artists to help him get his vision processed! It takes MANY great minds to write a great musical… Milner is not afraid to pick the brains of several artists from around the world! Thanks to Fiverr, he has worked with several musicians, composers, singers, writers, editors, and designers from all over the globe to help Milner gather his thoughts and ideas into one beautiful work of musical theatre. He could not have done this without their help, and no matter how big or small the effort was, Milner believes all of these artists should get recognition for helping him out with his dream.
Some artists take Milner’s lyrics and orchestrate a song out of those lyrics… Some artists take Milner’s idea for a poster concept and turn his vision into art… Some artists take Milner’s script and give him notes on how to improve the script…
Without these artists, Milner would have burned out and never gotten any of his ideas translated to the stage.
